GOMBAK, 16 August 2022: Today’s achievement is a testimony of the unwavering resilience and determination the graduates showed in the pursuit of knowledge, the President of IIUM, Tan Sri Samsudin Osman, mentioned.
Tan Sri Samsudin made several remarks during his speech yesterday (15 August) in the fifth session of the 37th IIUM Convocation Ceremony to the graduands from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) and Kulliyyah of Dentistry (KOD).
He addressed that AIKOL graduates benefit from having a deeper understanding of Islamic and conventional legal systems that are adapted in our legal framework thus making it different from the rest.
“This unique curriculum, which combines Islamic and conventional law, should have moulded you to become unique individuals who can offer solutions to various legal issues; some of which related to conventional and Islamic aspects intertwined,” he added.
Meanwhile to the graduands of the Kulliyyah of Dentistry, he called on young dentists to rise and play a proactive role to transform the status quo of public health issues.
“You have gained specialised knowledge, skills, strengths, and more importantly the values internalised throughout years of tarbiyah under the IIUM education system,” he stressed.
With the distinguished qualities, he reminded graduates to lead the way and continue to shift the society and offer alternative solutions to various problems from today onwards.
Lastly, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the trust and continuous support given by parents, families, and everyone in fulfilling the dreams of the graduands in receiving their scrolls.***
