Zayan FM needs authentic content to promote Islamic education, henceforth, the support from academics from IIUM to supply information or share their expertise is essential, he added.

Mr. Wan Syahrul also pointed out on the need for a long-term collaboration to maintain the relevance of the radio, which is oriented towards dakwah for the community.

Other than producing educational content, Nasyid is another essence being promoted in Zayan FM.

“We found out that IIUM students are active in Nasyid activities on campus, thus, we want to recognize the talents of IIUM students through this collaboration.

“We welcome songs recorded by the students for Zayan FM and will also consider if they are suitable for broadcast or help in terms of producing more professional Nasyid singers in the future,” he added.

The collaboration was hoped to become the set off for other broadcasting field to cooperate with other public universities in Malaysia.

“We want to cultivate this kind of cooperation for the people to follow so that we can have diverse content in a world of social media and to ensure that there is support from academics who can shoulder the responsibility in sharing authentic and useful content,” he wrapped up in the interview.
