KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin has been named as one of the five vice-presidents of the 75th World Health Assembly which is now taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, according to BERNAMA report.
Khairy was chosen alongside representatives from four other countries: Bulgaria, Indonesia, Togo, and the United States.
On Sunday night (22 May), the Health Ministry released a video of the announcement to the local media.
Khairy’s appointment was verified by Dimishtra Sittampalam, the Health Minister’s advisor, in a tweet.
“He will be the Western Pacific’s representative. This region includes 37 countries and accounts for more than a quarter of the global population, “he stated. ***
