PM expresses condolences on Rayyan’s tragic ending

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 February 2022: Over the course of one week, the hashtag #SaveRayyan goes viral on Twitter. With every click, the anticipation towards the boy grows stronger as the rescue team expands.

The week ended with disappointing news delivered by Astro Awani reporting that Rayyan died shortly after he was saved.

The five-year-old Maghribi was trapped inside the well after he had an accidental fall since last Tuesday (1 February). Upon rescue, he passed away shortly after.

Aryan plunged into the 32-meter-deep well located at his hometown in Ighran, near the hilly areas of Chefchaouen.

Rayan Awram’s death was confirmed at The Royal Palace of Maghribi on Saturday (5 February).

According to international media reports, the King of Maghribi, Mohammed VI expressed his condolences to Rayan’s family.

Astro Awani reported Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob expressing his condolences to the family where he wrote on a Facebook status that ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ is saddened by the passing of Rayan Awram.

In the posting yesterday, Ismail wrote, “May the late Rayan Awram be placed amongst the righteous and pious.” ***
