KUALA NERUS, 12 January 2022: A total of 1,900 public workers have been found to have obtained fake vaccination certificates from a private clinic in Terengganu provided by a 51-year-old doctor.

Several statements were made by the Terengganu Head of Local Government, Housing, Health and State Environment, Dr. Alias concerning what was considered as a threat to public safety.

“We will instruct responsible government departments to follow key public health issues such as anti-vaccination and fake vaccination certificates that may be practiced by their workers,” claimed Dr. Alias when commenting on misconduct of the doctor who approved fake vaccination certificates, in a recent interview with the local newspaper.

“It is important to make sure that this does not happen again in the future,” he said.

The activity of obtaining fake vaccination certificates from the private clinic in Marang, Terengganu was reported by the public.

This brought a police raid led by the Trengganu Chief of Police, Datuk Rohaimi Md Isa last Saturday (8 January) along with representatives from the Public Health Department of Terengganu.

Dr. Alias disclosed that both the police and public health departments need to conduct proper measures and pay close attention to possible breaches of public health policies such as spreading misinformation on vaccines and faking of vaccination certificates. ***
