GOMBAK, 21 December 2021: The teaching of Islamic values is fundamental for all Muslims especially for the younger generations.
In relation to that, Gemilang Club IIUM has collaborated with Akademi Fateh Hakim in organising an inspiring mentor and mentee programme called SMART Gemilang Al-Fateh that focused mainly on mentorship, leadership and dakwah.
The programme was held last month (13 November) through an online Google Meet platform involving a total of 15 standards 4 and 5 students from five primary schools around Gombak which are Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Pusu, Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Selasih, Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Nanas, Sekolah Rendah Integrasi Sungai Chinchin, as well as Akademi Fateh Hakim itself.
SMART Gemilang Al-Fateh successfully achieved its three main objectives as follows:
- To nurture the Islamic fundamentals in mentees’ daily life
- To promote interaction between mentors and committee members with the mentees while practicing Islamic values
- To instil mentees’ interest in Islamic learning
This programme also focused on the development of the mentees’ knowledge in Islamic teachings through three sessions – Session 1 was about the story-telling of Sirah al-Anbiyaa’, Session 2 was on online explorace, and Session 3 remarked on the programme’s closure with the Yassin recitation, in conjunction with praying for the best of the mentees for their final examination. ***
