KUALA LUMPUR, 14 December 2021: Two men and two women believed to be involved in two separate videos mocking persons with disabilities (PwD) last Wednesday (8 December) were tracked down and reported by the police despite the accepted apologies.

This report was submitted by a woman over their actions of abusing the PwD facilities. The offensive videos have gone viral on social media since a few days ago.

Sentul District Police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai said the video uploaded showed two men posing and pretending as PwDs after parking their vehicle at the disabled parking lot at a shopping mall.

He also added that another video featured two women abusing PwD toilets at a petrol station who were also acting physically disabled.

According to the police report lodged by the complainant, she felt that the individuals had obviously insulted the disabled in the country as they used the target group to gain views from the social media community,

Beh said the case was classified under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for intentional insult and abusing social media facilities. ***
