GOMBAK, 4 October 2021: Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi has recently been named as Distinguished Fellow of Communication and Media Centre (COMET), Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences.

The appointment formally starts from 1 August 2021 until 31 July 2022 effectively.

Senator Datuk Ras Adiba, who used to work with Media Prima (as news anchor on TV3 and NTV7), has actively participated in a few Paralympics sports events including long-distance marathon, swimming, badminton and shooting.

Her enthusiasm in sports was further proven when she represented Malaysia in the 2015 ASEAN Para Games in Singapore.

In 2014, Datuk Ras Adiba was awarded the Tokoh Srikandi Negara and had set the Malaysia Book of Records after she successfully pushed her wheelchair from Johor Bahru to Putrajaya in ten days with the total distance of 490 km.

Datuk Ras Adiba was appointed Senator at the Dewan Negara Malaysia on 20 May 2020 to represent the disabled.

On 23 November 2020, Datuk Ras Adiba was appointed as chairman of Pertubuhan Berita Nasional Malaysia (BERNAMA), replacing Suhaimi Sulaiman who had resigned earlier on 6 August, making her the first woman to be appointed as its chairman in the 53-year history of its establishment.***
