The main objective of the workshop was to create awareness of the deaf people among the campus community, and Ai’sah Salmi, a sign language tutor at Ibn Ummi Al-Maktum in IIUM Kuantan, was the invited speaker.

Participants were taught in the workshop ways to handle various sign languages that include alphabets, numbers, and family members.

This is the first time The Good Society has organised the workshop which had drawn full attendance from the campus community.

It was held last Sunday (26 September) at 8.30 p.m through Zoom and was moderated by Aiman Faiz who is also The Good Society advocate.

Conducted in Bahasa Melayu, the workshop had benefitted the students not only in terms of acquiring knowledge of sign language but also learning to understand each other better. ***
