Lembah Klang transitioning to Phase 2 NRP from this Friday

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 September 2021: The government agrees to allow Lembah Klang areas transition to Phase 2 in accordance with the National Recovery Plan (NRP) starting this Friday (10 September). 

Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob agrees to the decision based on the evaluation made by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) including the National Security Council (NSC).

“On 8 September 2021, the meeting held by the special committee COVID-19 management agrees to the decision in allowing the transition to Phase 2 for Lembah Klang areas such as Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya that is effective immediately on 10th of September 2021,” according to the Prime Minister.

“At the same time, allowing travelling activities in the state involving accommodating at the hotel and homestay to fully vaccinated individuals.”

Whilst that, the Prime Minister makes it clear that the government should agree to let loose the SOP at Lembah Klang for activities such as sports, leisure, and recreation. 

“One of the conditions that has been decided is indoor activities for fully vaccinated individuals, except the gym. The sports facility and closed indoor commercials are allowed to operate with regulations that are limited to only fully vaccinated individuals,” he adds.

However, he adds that the usage of the facilities must be scheduled and SOP compliant.

Other than that, the trade industry and distribution are allowed to operate starting this 10th September. This involves floral shops and nurseries, outdoor facility shops and housing galleries. 

In the same statement, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri announces the government will allow in giving additional flexibilities to states under Phase 2 and 3.***
