COVID-19 update: 1,925 new cases, two deaths

GOMBAK, 29 December 2020: Malaysia today recorded 1,925 new cases of COVID-19 infections with Selangor recording the highest number at 747 cases (38.8 %), bringing the total number of active cases to 21,443 and a cumulative of 108,615 positive cases.

Two cases of fatalities were recorded bringing the COVID-19 death toll to 457 cases as of today, according to the Ministry of Health.

A total of 1,123 cases nationwide have recovered and discharged, making a total number of recovery cases to 86,715.

Three clusters were reportedly ended but nine new additional clusters were detected as of today. They are Seri Lanang Cluster, Integra Ikon Cluster, Jalan Chu Cluster, Awan Putih Construction Site Cluster, Jalan Satang Cluster, Rambai Cluster, Tembok Mempaga Cluster, Teguli Cluster and Timbang Dayang Cluster.

“117 positive cases are treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 55 cases in need of ventilator support,” the statement added.

The Ministry of Health Malaysia advised the public to always avoid 3Cs (Crowded place, Confined spaces and Close conversation) and follow 3Ws (Wash hands, Wear mask and Warned).***
