GOMBAK, 19 December 2020: Malaysia recorded 1,153 new COVID-19 cases today with one death, making a total of 15,294 active cases and total death at 433.
According to the Ministry of Health the bulk of new cases with 1,151 are local followed by two imported cases.
The Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah stated that Selangor leads with the highest number of new cases at 401, followed by Kuala Lumpur, 281, and Sabah at 199.
Meanwhile, there are 998 new recovered cases making the total of recovery cases at 76,242.
On the other hand, a total of 112 active cases are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 56 patients requiring ventilator support.
The public are reminded to always adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and to practise social distancing in their everyday life.***
