COVID-19 update: 1,123 new cases reported today, 4 new clusters

GOMBAK, 5 December 2020: A total of 1,123 COVID-19 cases including five imported cases were reported as of noon today, bringing the current number of active cases to 10,775 and total confirmed cases to 71,359.

Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah reported that Sabah recorded the highest number of cases which is 391 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur and Selangor with 265 cases and 221 cases respectively.

There are also four new deaths reported, taking the cumulative COVID-19 death toll for the country to 380 so far.

“As of today, a total of 130 individuals were being treated in the hospital intensive care unit (ICU), with 54 of them under respiratory assistance,” he said.

Additionally, Dr. Noor Hisham disclosed a total 1,143 positive cases of COVID-19 have recovered and discharged today, adding to the total number of discharged and recovered cases to 60,204 cases.

In a statement today, it was also reported of detection of four new COVID-19 clusters. The four new clusters emerged are namely Batu Tiga cluster and Domis Road cluster in Sabah, Andalas cluster in Selangor and Roundabout construction cluster in Kuala Lumpur. ***
