Consistency, the answer to successful weight loss

By Maryam Nasir

Achieving the ideal weight can be tough for a person who had problems to maintain their diet plan. Nowadays, there are a lot of diet plan introduced to us and we are free to choose it depending on our needs. However, it may not work even when we are trying hard enough.

The effectiveness in all diet plans is only one, which is consistency. The process of changing phases or environment in our life can be one of the major factors why those diet plans do not work on certain bodies.

Consistency with motivation is the most powerful tool, but how do you make sure the consistency in planning your diet is a success? It may be tough but here are some tips that will probably help you.

Dig deep

Before all those consistency starts, you need to think deeper of the purpose of doing this diet plan. This acts as the first solid base towards consistency in the long term. We always underestimate this step but this is the major factor that we tend to forget before starting our diet plan. It can be a list of why you should start this diet, what you should do to keep this plan on track every single day like ‘why you should reduce you weight’ or ‘why this plan can help you in future’.

Find your wiggle room

Our perception about consistency can be worse if we’re pushing our self-non-stop. It can also affect our emotion as well as we are stressful in following the guide of this kind of diet plan. So, you need to give yourself some room to play and it will increase your dedication throughout your diet plan. Having plan B as the spontaneous plan such as having a dinner or sweets as your cheat day. Let yourself embrace the interruption and see them as happy surprises.

Know when to call it

Don’t make the consistency as a burden in your diet plan as you need to enjoy the moment of your routine as something beneficial towards yourself. But don’t forget to keep an eye on the result as that is our goal. We may enjoy the moment of a challenging routine by tracking the result such as once a month. Don’t feel relieved if we achieve it but take that as a motivation to keep going for more.

Remember that the diet plan does not work if we do not have consistency and motivation. It may be very challenging to follow the routine but it is worthy of an effort once we achieve our goals. Bear in mind that consistency should not be a burden to us but rather the only way to gain our ideal weight.***
