Truth be told, photography is hard, but capturing your adventures is really the best part of the activity if you use your imagination and not hold down with the jargon.
One fact you have to accept first, that you cannot take a good picture just by buying the most expensive camera out there. The thing is 90% of it comes from you! I know it is scary to head out there and look for a camera. There are so many brands, types and pixel size to consider.
So, let’s make it simple!
First, note down what you want the camera for. Nature? Events? Portraits? Write ’em down. Then set yourself a budget. Trust me, losing your money to something that are not worth it is really frustrating.
Secondly, remember that camera technology moves a lot faster than computer technology. So, an out of date camera is not to be worried. Remember, a good picture has no expiration date.
Thirdly, do not fret too much about pixels. If your pictures are just for your Tumblr, then you don’t need ’em to be incredibly high-res.
Plus, digital compact cameras have come a long way: they’re more effective, easy to use, convenient, and pretty cheap, too. Today’s ranges are almost a full match to SLR cameras. With that being said, check out Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon.
And lastly, there’s really no need to be professional at the moment. Start easy and try one of the entry level models, ideally, with basic lens, then add a few spare memory cards and batteries – you’re ready for your first photo shoot!
My advice: learn how your camera works by taking all types of pictures in different angles, lighting situations, and styles. Bottom line, experiment with it and keep shooting.
