World Cup: How to survive on two hours’ sleep

By Shawal Ras

The 2014 edition of FIFA World Cup has officially begun. Most hardcore football fans would not want to miss their favourite matches or to support their favourite teams. So they would stay up at midnight or at 3 until 5 in the morning to watch the games.

I know how little sleep they would have had after watching all these matches! They would only have a couple of hours of sleep before waking up and having to go to work or attending classes.

Since the football matches will be going on until mid-July, I will try to provide you with a guide on how to survive your work or classes on barely two hours’ sleep. There are several steps you can follow.

First, warm up your voice while heading to the office or classroom. Sounds unimportant? Well, your croaks might amuse your friends and colleagues, but your lecturer is less likely to appreciate it.

Next, buy some fruits or healthy snacks. Those stuffs will keep your energy up throughout the day. Get some bananas or apples.

Third, please do not take any kind of drugs as it’ll only make matters worse. Try some caffeine, but be careful not to overdose it. My advice, one cup in the morning, and another one after Zuhr. No more coffee after 4.00 p.m as it’ll mess-up your biological clock.

Lastly, if you’re unable to keep your eyes open, you can always sit at the back or hide behind your computer screen and try to catch a nap.

You might spend your life striving to be noticed, but today, anonymity is your best friend.

P/S: Don’t snore.
