Outreach programme in Miri and Ranau to enhance religious education

GOMBAK, 20 October 2019: A one-week outreach community service programme to Kampung Bekenu, Miri, Sarawak (Bedudun series 2) and Kampung Lungkidau, Ranau, Sabah (Lungkidau series 1), will be held from 26 October until 2 November this year.

Organised by MISI Club IIUM, both outreach programmes are in need of another RM5,000 to reach a targeted amount of RM20, 000 for each programme.

These outreach programmes are intended to serve the community of Kampung Subak Bekenu, Miri and Kampung Lungkidau, Ranau not only in education but also in terms of religious enhancement to help the community to live their life according to Islamic teachings.

The activities conducted will be related to Islamic teachings such as wudhu workshop, solat workshop and jenazah management. The activities will include motivational and educational talk, distribution of donation, and holding of Quranic and Kafa classes.

Apart from doing religious enhancement, Bedudun series 2 will be focusing on some projects like mosque improvement, street light and school signage to enhance the facilities of the villagers. While Lungkidau series 1 will be focusing on the religious enhancement to the muallaf in the village.

MISI Club is one of the clubs under the supervision of Centre for Community Engagement and Services (CENSERVE) of IIUM and is currently active in conducting community services and engagement projects in Sabah and Sarawak.

Most of the programmes are intended to help people in the rural areas in Sabah and Sarawak.
