“Saodah Wok Cup” bowling tournament a great time for bonding

GOMBAK, 22 October 2018 – For the third time, the annual “Saodah Wok Cup” bowling tournament was successfully held at Wangsa Bowl, Wangsa Walk last Friday (19 October) to foster strong bond between students and lecturers.

A traditional event organised by Communication students, the tournament has been named after Prof. Dr. Saodah bt. Wok of Communication Department for her great contribution to Communication Student Association (COSA).

œBelieve in yourself, aim high and just enjoy the game, Prof. Saodah said in her speech to remind the participants not to involve in the tournament without having any goal.

This third edition event has been enlivened by participation of 60 students and 25 committee members to make sure the event was a success and fun all along.

Assistant programme manager, ˜Aina Syifa who is a third-year student, told IIUMToday that this event not only brought students together but also led them to a healthy lifestyle.

With all the exciting moments, the most awaited session by all participants was the lucky draw.

A group by the name œChic in bt emerged champion with a score of 1112 points among 12 groups that participated in the tournament. Two students, Muhaimin and Siti were both crowned best players for male and female categories respectively.

œI believe the tournament is also to help students enjoy their free time from studies, and through this event, I have the opportunity to meet new friends, said the leader from group œChic in bt, Mohamad Al-Alif, a first year student from the Department of Political Science.

A photography session of all participants together with lecturers was held following the prize giving to keep as memory for the future. ***
