GOMBAK, 23 April 2018: Around one hundred students from different nationalities took the ijazah in hadith in the hands of a renowned scholar on Hadith, Sheikh Abu Lais, on Friday (20 April) during the Ijazathul Hadith Programme.

The event was organised by Association of Indian Students (AIS) in collaboration with the Islamic Revealed Knowledge Students Secretariat (ISRAK).

Sheikh Abu Lais spoke on the importance of sanad (chain of transmitters) in a hadith followed by the distribution of ijazah on the six books of hadith.

AIS President, Abduraafi, said, “Our main reason behind organising this event is to highlight the importance of studying hadith as well as to keep alive the tradition of hadith in IIUM.”

This is the first time AIS is collaborating with another student society in organising an event. ”We do not restrict participation to the Indians only, rather, our aim is to interact and integrate with the wider IIUM and the Malay community,” Vice President of AIS, Aysha Ashraf, said in her welcoming remarks.  ***
