GOMBAK, 2 April 2018: Four IIUM students calling themselves “The Musafir” won first prize worth RM3,000 for participating in short film contest.

The team consists of Hafiz Azman, Irfan Sani, Taufiq Mat Nasir and Rofizi Yusoff, three of whom are Communication students while another is Usul Fiqh student.

They received the award at a ceremony held at Kolej Universiti Islam Selangor (KUIS) last Saturday (31 March).

The contest was organised by World Assembly of Muslim Youth Malaysia (WAMY).

“Our video revolved around one main character who was in the middle of traveling. While he was traveling, he met three different people and he helped each one of them despite not knowing them really well,” Taufiq Mat Nasir told IIUMToday.

“It shows that we are all humans and we need to help and do good deeds to each other in our daily lives. As a traveler, we are moving to the hereafter. Therefore, every good deed that we do is for our saving at the hereafter,” he added.

Asked how they felt on winning the contest, Hafiz Azman said that they were so grateful to Allah SWT that their hard work had paid off. He also said that they were surprised with the winning as they only filmed it for one day.***
