GOMBAK, 22 September: The KAED Exhibition 2017 (KAEDEX 17), a programme organised from 18 until 22 September under the KAED Festival was aimed to give exposure to IIUM community about the different fields within the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED).

The event held at KAED Gallery featured an assortment of artworks made by KAED students throughout their studies. There were five booths in the exhibition, each featuring a department under KAED: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Applied Arts and Design, Quantity Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning.

Each of the department provided activities that are related to their courses. The arrangement of the exhibition started with Department of Urban and Regional Planning because they are the people who decide the site location of a project on a macro scale.

œThe guests will get a piece of paper from each booth, and at the end of the booth, they will combine the overlapping paper and people can relate the relationship between each department with a project that has been done,” said the programme manager of KAEDEX, Diyana Ashiqin.

œEach department takes part to contribute to the exhibition. So far, KAEDEX has attracted good attention and received a lot of positive response from IIUM students.

The head of the Public Relations team of KAEDEX, Anas Zubir, said, œWe as the Public Relations team are trying very hard to promote the departments that exist in this Kulliyyah and how each department is interrelated with each other under this Kulliyyah because when people hear about our Kulliyyah, in their mind, it is all about architecture while that is not the case.”

KAEDEX 17 gives a good glimpse to IIUM community what architecture is all about showcasing exquisite artworks by architecture students. ***
