GOMBAK, 7 April 2017: The Street Food is considered a unique event featured during the three-day IRKHSS Festival at the campus bringing foods from different parts of the globe to demonstrate the integration of students of the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences in line with the programme’s tagline ‘Integration towards Perfection’.

The festival is organised by the Islamic Revealed Knowledge Human Sciences Student Society (IRKHSSS) and proceeds from the event will go to the IRKHSS fund. The event is also part of the programme to celebrate the diversity among students under the Kulliyyah who represent various departments and coming from diverse cultural background.

“We tried to bring a new concept for this Street Food event, for example, we have brought in food trucks to Convest Hill before this, and we always adopted the canopy concept. Now we decided to ditch that idea,” Siti Ummi Hatiqah, who is the President of IRKHS Students’ Society, told IIUMToday.

Asked about the funds, Siti Ummi Hatiqah, who is also the event’s programme manager, said the funds raised would be used for any upcoming centralised programmes for the Kulliyyah.

Due to the outstanding response from the students and the IIUM community, the duration of the Festival has been extended until Friday. ***
