GOMBAK, 2 December 2016 –  IIUM.fm managed to collect RM1,373. 60 during their donation drive in conjunction with ‘Solidarity with Palestinians’ held recently.

‘Solidarity with Palestinian’ is a programme conducted by IIUM.fm as an effort to spread awareness about Palestinians’ plight among IIUM students. On 29 November, IIUM.fm initiated tribute slots for the whole day as their sign of solidarity with the Palestinians.

The goal of the programme is to gather donations for the Palestinians, according to the public relations member of IIUM.fm. Besides, it is aimed to change the state of awareness and perception of Malaysians on the Palestinian people that such donations are prone to be an on-off thing.

“Alhamdulillah, the programme received an encouraging response from the IIUM community. We are truly humbled by the support and it was good to see everyone participating and donating for the Palestinians,” head of IIUM.fm Public Relations, Anis Shafiza said.

“My only hope is to see that IIUM students will continue their support for the Palestinians and will always stand for Gaza as they are fighting for their freedom and rights. Together, we stand for Gaza,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Director of Strategic Programme Development MERCY Malaysia, Hj. Norazam Ab Samah said that their organisation has always welcome any collaboration in such programme and also volunteers who are willing to help in any way they can. He encouraged university students to help the community as they hold the world’s future. ***
