French fries dunked in rich, cheesy goodness

When you think of a fast-food eatery, the first thought that comes to your mind instead of the mains are most definitely the fries. If eateries are not producing good mains, the least we expect are batches of lightly salted, golden-fried french fries. We deem our french fries to be warm and crispy with every munch, allowing our tastebuds to savour the seasoning.

With regards to top-notch, finger-licking french fries, the founder of Pronto Fries Malaysia, Faizul Asyraf Roslee, a forth year student of the Arabic Language & Literature, has decided to begin a start-up specialising in the craft of making the best cheese fries after a recent trip to Singapore with his crew.

Being a Singaporean, he said that cheese fries are easily found in fast-food chains around the country but it is most unlikely to be found in Malaysia. Since he began his studies in IIUM four years ago, it is difficult for him to find cheese fries that are of quality locally.

Apparently, he claimed that Malaysians operating the cheese fries business preferred using powdered cheese which is a rather a bad substitute for what they have in Singapore.

“My intention is to introduce these fries to my fellow Malaysians so that they know how we, Singaporeans, make our cheese fries,” said Faizul when asked about how the idea came up.

A generously filled box of cheese fries is sold at RM6 each.

At the moment, since they are at an introductory phase, they are frankly suffering from a loss but Pronto Fries Malaysia wants the product to gain momentum in the market so they are willing to suffer for a bit.

In terms of quality control, they sourced out the finest grade of french fries, and with their combination of mayonnaise, ‘special’ cheese and spring onion, it is said to definitely satisfy the tastebuds.

They are currently looking out for events. For more information, readers can search them up on Facebook and Instagram at ‘prontofriesmalaysia.’***
