Caring Club in collaboration with Mahallah Representative Committee of Mahallah Siddiq is organising the charity run with the objective of collecting funds for orphanages that are affiliated with Caring Club IIUM. The Programme Manager of the event, Aizzat Hasnan, stated that apart from collecting funds for the orphans, one of the main objectives of RFO is to strengthen the bond between the orphans and the public.
The entry fees for RFO starts from RM35 for IIUM students and RM40 for the public for four-kilometre run and RM40 and RM50 respectively for eight-kilometre run.
RFO 2016 is the second charity run organised by Caring Club IIUM, which is the only club under University Centre for Community Engagement (BUDI) whose niche area solely focuses on the wellbeing of orphans. The first RFO held last year had gathered more than 400 participants.
This year, they are targeting around 2000 participants.
Aizzat Hasnan also expressed the hope that the charity run will achieve their main goal. œI hope that we can raise enough funds for us to help the orphans financially while improving their wellbeing in education and spiritually, he said.***
