Rio 2016 Olympics: Chong Wei goes to Final

By Yasmin Latif

GOMBAK, 19 August 2016: When it comes to badminton game, we always wanted to see the big match from our beloved player Datuk Lee Chong Wei and the player from China that we all know, Lin Dan. Both of them met in the semi-final resistance fight at the Rio Olympics 2016 today to get into the men’s singles final.

Both players were able to make viewers get into their nerves with their fierce games because we cannot deny that both the players gave their best to win. In the first game, Lin Dan was able to win over Chong Wei with the score 21-15. Well, Chong Wei was able to counter back trashing Lin Dan with the highest points 21-11.

However, evidently Lin Dan was not easy to be defeated by giving fierce competition to Chong Wei itself. In the final match, both were using their experiences and skills to fight it out with only one point difference. Apparently, after several matches with Lin Dan, Chong Wei seemed to be able to predict Lin Dan’s style of play and the victory was in the favour of Malaysia in the semi-final round with the winning point Chong Wei 22, and Lin Dan 20.

Hopefully, there is a golden opportunity for Datuk Lee Chong Wei to advance as winner for Olympics 2016 in a final match with a player from China, Cheng Long, who is also one of the great players in badminton arena. Prayers and support of millions of Malaysians for our national athletes.***
