GOMBAK, 13 May 2016: The Inter-Kulilyyah Sports Festival 2016 (KUSEF 16) closing ceremony witnessed football’s final match between the finalists, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences and the Kulliyyah of Engineering, in heavy rain. The tentative arrangement that initially put the first half of the game to take place before prize giving ceremony for other sports competition then had to be changed.
The event took place on 9 May at Sayyidina Hamzah Stadium. Many players from both teams fell down while going after the ball because of the slippery field. Worst, one player who fell was thrown far from where he first stood. Looking at the situation where all players were out of control of their own movements and risking themselves, the organiser decided that the game has to stop.
It then brought the first round of prize giving session earlier. After some time, the rain started to drizzle and the football match continued. More audiences were seen arrived after that to support both teams.
As for the prize-giving, the VIP invited to give medals to the winners was  Director of Sport Development Centre, Rustam Effendi Sijar. Various games involved besides football were takraw, badminton, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, handball, basketball, futsal, netball, chess, tug of war, and free fight.
Most games had categories for both male and female. The dynamic of supporters seemed to not fade from cheering for the final football match players that night and for members of their Kulliyyah who were called to receive medals for other sports.
The event ended with the announcement of the final award, which was the overall champion of KUSEF 16. The award that was called as the SRC Cup was won by the Kulliyyah of Engineering.
This sports event has become the first ever IIUM Inter-Kuliyyah Sports Festival, with its motto ”Stand as One”.***
