Bill Gates. Mark Zuckerberg. Larry Page. They share more than a few outstanding accomplishments. Theyre billionaires, they made their fortunes in tech and they started their businesses while they were still students. It also doesnt hurt that theyre seriously smart cookies.
Being an entrepreneur is one of the most exciting and popular things to do although starting and maintaining a business isnt easy. Through real life experience we can learn how to manage and maintain a business. Intellectual entrepreneurs as those who œtake risks and seize opportunities, discover and create knowledge, innovate, collaborate, and solve problems in any number of social realms.
So, in between lectures and studying, it is amazing to see how some students are actively doing some side business for extra pocket money. This is also a huge advantage for students because it’s not only a practice for them to juggle a few things at a time, but also to be creative and innovative. It also helps them on how to manage time wisely and also to be good in entrepreneurship skills.
It is important to have a mindset whenever youre doing something. You can actually learn a lot more than you can get from textbooks because usually things like these arent taught or emphasised in class. You dont have to be a business student to be an entrepreneur because it can all start at the university.
Of course, there would be pressures from both sides but you have to be really committed in school and also be efficient in starting a small business. But if you look at it on a bright side, this might be helpful for your resume and you have more to talk about it with your potential workplace. Nowadays, the job markets are looking for entrepreneurship skills or experience in students. They are highlighting this extra qualification as one of the new added soft skills for students.
Most importantly, through proper education and preparation, universities are becoming a vital place for those who aim to be both successful entrepreneurs and getting some extra money for fun.***
