GOMBAK, 9 April 2016: Education Festival 2016, or better known as EduFest’16, organised by the Bachelor of Education Students Association (BEDSA) was held in the Kuliyyah of Education from 4 to 10 April 2016.

The festival, with this year’s theme “Enrich ourself, inspire others”, was managed by four main councils of BEDSA, namely Teaching English as a Second Language Students Society (TESS), Council of Young Arabic Teachers (CYAT), Council of Counselling Students IIUM (CCSI) and Bachelor of Islamic Education Council (ISED).

Lots of interesting and educational activities were available for everyone throughout the week, from the exciting edu bazaar comprising of IIUM student vendors selling various types of food and items to educational exhibition showcasing the evolution of Malaysian educational system.

Among other activities were fruit decoration contest, movie nights, public speaking competition, language camp and KOED family day.

“Last year’s Education Festival was great but this year it’s even better. We didn’t expect to receive many visitors from all around the university,” said Publication and Promotion committee member, Nurullah, a third year Guidance and Counselling (GUIDE) student.

“We even received a visit from the children of IIUM EduCare along with their teachers. They learned and enjoyed a lot from our Counselling Open Day and the Abu Hurairah Mini Zoo,” added Assistant Programme Coordinator, Nurunazihah, who is a third year Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) student.***
