GOMBAK, 24 March 2015 : A total of 28 booths were set up at an exhibition in conjunction with the Quality Day 2016 consisting of the Kulliyyah and IIUM offices as well as external agencies such as the Polis Di Raja Malaysia, Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja, and Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan.
A representative from the exhibition secretariat, Megat Mohd Samsul Megat Ismail said, œThere are 15 internal booths which were open to all Kulliyyah and Departments. While the rest were from other agencies. We have posted the announcement in IIUM website and whoever wants to join can do so.
The two-day exhibition was held from 18 until 19 March.
Besides, awards were provided for the best booth. These awards were given after taking into consideration the decision of the jury and votes from other staff.
œThe calculation is based on 50% by the jury and another 50% from voting. We provide three judges with the list of criteria of the winner. The judges were a lecturer from Kulliyyah of Architecture, Associate Professor Dr. Noor Hanita Abdul Majid, a representative from the administration (Officer from Legal Office), Mohamad Mos, and a representative from the Deputy Director, Corporate Strategic Office, Abul Rahman Ahmad Dahlan, said Megat Mohd Samsul.
The Kulliyyah of Engineering won the award for academic section while the award for the non-academic category went to Information Technology Division (ITD).
With the theme “Futuristic”, the Kulliyyah of Engeneering managed to win the award for the best booth. According to Nurhanina Rafai from the said Kulliyyah, this is the second time they won the award, the first time was in 2014.
œWe choose this theme because we want to show what we face tomorrow we have it today. We want to realise what we have now that it is related to what will happen in the future.
“We came out with this theme in less than a week. We used all the prototypes and tools from the lab. This award was the result of a commitment of the staff in the Kulliyyah of Engineering,said Nurhanina. ***
