GOMBAK, 26 March 2016: A programme on “Youth: Leader of the Future”, organised by WAWASAN Club which was scheduled on Monday, 28 March, has been cancelled due to ‘incompatibility’ with current campus politics.

œThe programme was asked to be cancelled by the President of IIUM, Tan Sri Dr. Rais Yatim, because it is unsuitable with the current campus politics. We were also informed that some other programmes have been cancelled for the reason to cool down the campus from any political programme, the Programme Manager of Youth: Leader of the Future, Fajrul Falah, said in a statement yesterday.

œHowever, after a few times of persuasion, we managed to get approval from YB Khairy Jamaluddin himself to proceed with the programme under his academy known as the Akademi Kepimpinan Kapten Hussein (AKHI), situated in Kelana Jaya Centre Point, he added.

Fajrul Falah also emphasised that the rescheduled programmes are not in any way associated with IIUM. It proceeds only on the basis of giving out knowledge “to those who are seeking.”

“There are no elements of politics that will be slotted into the programme. The programme with the Minister Mentor of IIUM, YB Khairy Jamaluddin, with the special appearance of Zimbabwes Mufti, Mufti Ismael Menk, is solely based on the idea of educating people on how to become great leaders.” ***
