GOMBAK, 5 March 2016: Persatuan Belia Islam Nasional PEMBINA IIUM Chapter in collaboration with Bakti PEMBINA IIUM has successfully organised a programme called Bakti Youth Festival involving students of Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integerasi, Gombak (SBPI Gombak).
This programme will help the students to develop their soft skills as well as to expose them to the relevant issues and information especially regarding Muslim leaders.
The Programme Manager, Muhammad Afiq Norahairuzan said, œIslam is the only religion which is in line with human nature, thus this programme focusing on enhancing awareness of the students about their responsibility as Muslims and to build or produce better individuals who will lead the society later on.
Bakti PEMBINA IIUM is also committed to conduct the programme focusing on improving their members intellectual and personalities in the hope that they can be great leaders or Khalifah, who can create a better future for the ummah.
œThis programme also gives benefit and positive values in life to the students as well for our members, he added.
The programme was held on Saturday (5 March 2016) at Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integerasi, Gombak (SBPI Gombak) from 8 a.m until 6.30 p.m which involved the participation of 71 members of PEMBINA IIUM who took charge as facilitators and about 300 students from SBPI, Gombak were participants in the programme.
There are a number of activities planned for the students in this programme in order to expose them to the Islamic elements such as having a talk session from Tarbiah Sentap, exhibition (mainly focusing on Umar Abdul Aziz, Al-Fateh, and Badiuzzaman Said Nursi), bookfair, explorace, outdoor competitions (kites making, congkak, batu Seremban, baling selipar, snake and ladder game, and food carving competition.
At the end of the programme, the teacher congratulated all of the committee members who have successfully organised the event on that day.
The Bakti Youth Festival ended with a closing and prize giving ceremony. The winners from those competitions or games were rewarded with prizes in form of hampers as appreciation for their participation in the event.
œToday was really fun! Thanks to the committee who worked very hard in conducting this programme. I have learned so much today in terms of teamwork and knowledge about religious figures or leaders. This programme does help me to develop my soft skills, said Nurul Aina Kamal, a student from SBPI.***
