‘Muslim Heroes’ to enlighten students in choosing role model

GOMBAK, 5 March 2016: œYou have the Best, forget the rest. This has been the tagline for the event called ˜Heroes: The chosen few to enlighten the students’ awareness especially in choosing their role models under the club of Muslim Heroes led by Suad Dirie, the events programme manager.

The event took place at Main Auditorium which started at 8 p.m. and lasted until 10 p.m. on 4 March. The speaker for todays event name was Ahmad Sabree from USA. He was a master’s student of Islamic Banking and Finance in IIUM. There was also Muhammad Abdullah Ali, a student from Kulliyyah of Engineering who became a moderator for creativity session on that night.

The promotional campaign team led by Zakaria Mohiuddin has started their campaign by giving out handbills to the students who passed by. Apart from that, they also used the social media to spread the news via WhatsApp, Twitter, and Facebook on ‘Muslim Heroes’ page which has 500,000 followers for now and a poster was placed there as well as flyers handed out. Posters have also been placed in every mahallah and kulliyyah plus at hot spot locations like HS café.

The registration was done through online and walk-in. Besides, the ‘Muslim Heroes’ club opens a booth and was selling wristbands, tote bag, T-shirt, Muslimah shirt, sweaters, and hoodies which have the clubs name on it during the event.

‘Heroes: The chosen few’ are the ten companions promised paradise. Four of which were the caliphs which were done two years back and this is the first of the other six companions, according to Meriem Mostapha, the venue manager, who is a student of Kulliyyah of Education.

She said that the next session will talk about companions whose name are Talha Ibn Ubaidillah and Zubayr Ibn Awwam and that will be held on Friday, 11 March 2016 at Econs LT 1.***
