KUANTAN, 17 January 2016 “ IIUM SUKSIS Silent Drill Squad involving 16 cadets has recently (22 to 23 January) been invited to Istana Seri Serene Johor Baharu to perform a Silent Drill Guard of Honour in front of Tengku Mahkota of Johor.
œIt is an honour to perform at Istana Seri Serene as we have been invited personally by Tengku Mahkota Johor himself. We are also the pioneer for this kind of performance. The two-day performance included our visit to Singapore as we have training and performance sessions with Singapore Military Police (SMP) on 31Â January, said Inspector Voluntary Police (IVP), Abu Huzaifah Bin Zulkifli,
This is the second time for the squad to visit another country for training and performance. The first time was held at Bramshill College, London in 2013. The training at Johore and Singapore is to secure official recognition from both Johore Military Force and Singapore Military Police to allow IIUM to teach Silent Drill to other SUKSIS uniform bodies in Malaysia.
œThe training and performance included the Guard of Honour in front of Istana Seri Serenes main gate and the armed drill with the SMP at Military Police Training School, Singapore, said IVP Mohd. Radzlan Mohd Rodzi, 25.
Silent Drill stands for silent armed drill with a specific order and IIUM is the only institution that has an official Silent Drill squad in Malaysia. The squad has received special training from Polis Di-Raja Malaysia (PDRM), United States Marine and Britain.***
