GOMBAK, 4 November 2015: The promotion for this year’s convocation festival or CONVEST ’15  has already started with publicity carried out at the night market near IIUM gate 2 despite the rain.

It started at 5 p.m. today with CONVEST members collecting donations for their programme called ‘Charity Rewang’, which means “Cooking Together” before the events start later in the week. The cooked foods are meant for the homeless around Kuala lumpur.

The team also promoted other programmes such as the talk entitled ‘Future Graduate: Expectation Vs Reality’, Sweet and Pastry Fair, Mega Festival (MEGAFEST), Theatre Night and Exhibition on Islamic Civilisation, Culture and Arts.

After the promotion activities carried out at the gate for about an hour, CONVEST members marched out along the night market led by its Executive Manager, Muhammad Abid Zaidan, to attract the attention of the crowd.

“The promotion is to encourage the public and IIUM students to come to the CONVEST event,” Muhammad Abid said.  After five minutes’ walk they all stopped at a large empty area near the night market and continued their promotion there.

All of the CONVEST group members began chanting ‘CONVEST BERAPI’ to attract the people around the night market.

IIUM student, Aida Liyana says, “The promotion looks happening and I am eager to see the event this year.”

Muhammad Abid also said the morale and commitment of CONVEST members is in line with the motto “CONVEST BERAPI” where the theme ‘BERAPI’ is to make CONVEST ’15 look energetic and stunningly amazing like a fire.

The promotion ended at 6.30 p.m. ***
