GOMBAK, 26 August 2015: Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to continue studies at the International Islamic University Malaysia. We are thrilled that you will be joining our family and we are happy to welcome you with open arms to this great university!
This coming session, IIUM has a privilege of greeting new students from across the countries and states in Malaysia, drawn to IIUM by its various degree programmes and its outstanding faculties.
This year, the University is expecting 2036 students for this new session. Of the total, 1289 students are ex-CFS, 60 International and 687 Direct Intake.
As a new student at IIUM, you are bound to have questions and before entering your respective Kulliyyah, youre compulsory to attend a week of orientation organised by the Student Affairs and Development Division (STADD).
The orientation week is designed especially for you, to help you to uncover the answers to those questions that you have, and to provide you with information about campus resources, programmes and services. By the time you finish the orientation, youll be on your way to becoming a successful IIUM student and in defining your career in the years ahead.
You will learn a lot about IIUM culture from now on. The orientation programme gives you an opportunity to learn how to navigate your campus life and to survive throughout the four years of study. During the programme you will begin to build a network of resources that will help you start your IIUM journey on the right path.
Throughout the week, you will find out more about your Kulliyyah, your major, and your classes, financial aid and scholarships availability, library facilities, clubs and organisations and many other campus resources.
Additionally, you will also learn tips from students, faculty and staff members to serve and guide you during your time at the IIUM. Taaruf Week and Students Representative Council (SRC) leaders will be around throughout your session. As current students, they are ready to answer your questions about life on campus. Come to the programme with your questions about what it means to be an IIUM student.
This orientation programme also provides you with a chance to meet other incoming IIUM students. Be prepared to meet new people and make new friends. Orientation week is your chance to show everyone that you are ready.
As for Direct Intake and International students, these are the four tests you have to take before entering your respective Kulliyyah, which are;
- Arabic Replacement Test (APT),
- English Replacement Test (EPT),
- Fundamental Knowledge Test (FKT),
- Tilawah Entrance Test (TEnT)
All are equally important as they will determine your duration of study in IIUM. Do well and all the best!
We look forward to meeting you this September! ***
