NEARLY a month after the first sarong œdress code incident, it seems absurd that the matter has still not been resolved. What started out as an innocent Facebook share has morphed into a rights awareness movement. These days, it feels almost as if the guards are on alert, ready to implement the dress code and, more obviously, the various sarong alternatives, with a pinch of pride over exercising their authority. Rather than fix the problem, all the publicity has done is to set many to choosing their trenches and digging their heels in. And though such a dress code has been in place for a long time, the matter has now escalated to being viewed as a racial issue. The longer it goes on without resolution, the worse it will be.
