Pas, DAP not viable partners

INCREASINGLY more apparent are the cracks in the marriage of convenience called Pakatan, the supposed alternative to the ruling coalition. Intended more to capture Putrajaya than to look after the interests of the rakyat, the obvious disagreements between them made the loose coalition so loose that it is now meaningless. Even while they pretend that they are a united front viable against the decades-long governing Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, their open squabbling shows them up for the charlatans they are. If at this stage their so-called ally DAP is already too stressed about hudud in Kelantan, how are they going to handle governance if Pas insists on hudud in all the Malay-majority states? This is a very likely scenario based on simple political logic, for head to head, Pas and DAP are even with PKR holding the balance on sufferance. When push comes to shove over hudud, PKR would be between a rock and a hard place, given its mainly Malay leadership line-up with the Anwar dynasty dominating.
