Gombak, 7 March 2015: With so many choices given and variety of courses offered, a student who just gotten his SPM result said that without helping from academicians from different universities, probability is still in between on what field and which universities is the best for them.
Its an annual event by the Ministry of Education in helping our students to make everything clear before they go to another phase in their life and to lighten their burden so they would not regret at the end of the day .
This year, the Ministry of Education has chosen International Islamic University Malaysia to be the host in Selangor Zone. By having education carnival or with its friendly name Jom Masuk U! is and an event a student should not miss for. Â The carnival is inclusive of 20 of local well-known universities, agencies and bodies from local public and private higher institutions of learning, various departments, agencies, government institutions and a few from the private sector.
This Jom Masuk U programme has actually marked the 11th successful edition. Zahidah, 24, a final year student in International Islamic University said, she was the among the participants who will not miss this higher educational carnival. As she said, even though she started to join this carnival three years ago without even missing a year, every university has a variety of approaches and it is not boring. œIt makes me feel like going again and again and I wish I can stay forever as a student in this university, she added.
Besides that, visitors can get more information regarding higher education learning during these two days including information concerning scholarships at every university. Dewi, 18, who just took her SPM result last Tuesday said, œChoosing the right course can be a daunting task, it is no wonder some would just give up even before they start and I think this is like a one-stop centre for those seeking to find out more about tertiary education available locally and to obtain the much-needed advice.
Ahmad Syahir, 22, who spent three years in Universiti Putra Malaysia, is forever thankful to the Ministry for organising such an event where all the information about education can be in one centre and at one place, thus making easier for the parents and the students themselves.
Compared to Rania and Laila, the two best friends who came all the way from Sekolah Menengah Sains Puteri, they said their teachers provided transportation to come to IIUM just to attend the carnival. This was their very first time to step in IIUM, and they felt so excited because besides going to the Jom Masuk UÂ event, they had the chance to look around the campus and IIUM was now one of their universities of choice. According to them, IIUM was one of the most conducive local universities they have ever been.
They said, this exhibition had the best resources for future graduates as well as the venue to be placed in different university each and every year is brilliant, because visitors who came could see for themselves of university lifestyle.
The Higher Education was held for two days starting 7 March 2015 at Padang Kawad, IIUM, from 8.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m.***
