IIUM.fm a model for UTHM

By Puteri Othman

Imitation is the best form of flattery and many great ideas come from imitation of work by others. On a wonderful Monday evening recently, a group of staff from University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) paid a visit to IIUM.fm and they were warmly welcome by the advisor and the crew of IIUM.fm.

The visit was planned to observe how the students manage the university radio station. They were given a tour in IIUM.fm. One of the staff from UTHM, Azizi who was in the group visiting IIUM.fm, said he was impressed with the management of IIUM.fm.

“This is my second time coming to IIUM and I have been to at least 4 radio stations and I believed that IIUM.fm is still at the level where we could follow the step for our new official radio that will be launched soon in October,” he added.

IIUM.fm is fully run by a group of students under the supervision of lecturers. Students are given the opportunity to run the show at least for an hour. The content of IIUM.fm is fully determined by the students.

We are happy to note that IIUM.fm has grabbed the attention of UTHM.
