GOMBAK, 1 December 2014: A workshop entitled ‘Express Yourself’ was held during the recent IIUM Internship Market Day with a topic œCommunicate Your Brand Image with Style.
The workshop aimed to educate the students on the choice of professional attire and colour choice. Emi Idura Che Hashim, a professional image consultant with experience in the corporate world was invited as the guest speaker.
œThe first seven seconds is the crucial part where people will make their first impression on you,” said Emi Idura, “and the colour palette of your choosing will have an important role in leaving a good first impression.”
According to her, darker shades of clothes would make a perfect attire for your workday. “Opt for black, dark blue, brown and nude,” she said, adding the fact that a female should always wear a two-inch heels to compliment the outfit, not sneaker shoes or high heels.
Emi Idura, who is also the founder of TOP2TOESTYLISTA, stated that brand is not only for a product, but as a human being, people also need to brand ourselves. The brand image that you show gives first impressions on level of professionalism and dedication.
The workshop was held for 105 minutes. Emi Idura hoped that the students who attended the workshop would change their styles and dressing from office wardrobe crimes to professional attire, so that it will at least help them to understand and practice it especially during presentations, interviews and jobs world.***
