KUALA LUMPUR, 27 March 2022: Malaysian singer Aina Abdul was acknowledged on the international stage when her image appeared on a Times Square billboard in New York (USA), The Star reported.

According to the newspaper report, Aina was selected by Spotify to be a representative of Malaysia in a programme entitled Equal Singapore and Malaysia.

Equal is one of the streaming global initiatives to promote gender equality in the music industry.

In a recent post on her Instagram, she thanked her team and fans that worked hard for such a delightful moment in her life.

“To be on board with some of the best female musicians for the Equal campaign still feels surreal to me,” she wrote on her Instagram.

After making a success for winning the best vocals and popular singer recently in Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL36), Aina was blessed with another accomplishment in her life.

Aina also mentioned that the gesture of being displayed on Times Square New York opened a new opportunity for her although the campaign will only last for a month.

“This exposure is good for me to be known globally,” she added.

Aina also revealed that one of her English songs managed to be broadcast on a Japanese radio station, which made her feel honoured.***
