GOMBAK 14 July 2014: Marmara University paid their first visit to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) today under the Mevlana Exchange Programme to develop closer partnership between the two universities.
The delegation from a renowned university in Turkey is making a week-long official visit to IIUM until July 20, 2014.
Consisted of two assistant professors from the Faculty of Theology, the delegation was briefed on the historical development of IIUM. In addition to that, the delegation was also explained on the activities of the university with regards to community engagement and research.
The delegation also visited several facilities of the university’s main campus, including the Library, which was later followed by an interview session at IIUM.fm.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Bilal Bas and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Ayten said the interest of Marmara University during the visit was to create a meaningful and successful partnership with IIUM in terms of staff-student exchange and joint research projects, among others.
Marmara University is one of the largest universities in Turkey. Located in Istanbul, the university is known for having notable alumni from various fields since its inception in 1883.
