GOMBAK, 13 January 2021: The recorded number of daily COVID-19 cases in Malaysia today shows an alarming spike of 2,985 new positive cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 32,377.
Two cases were imported, while the rest are local transmissions.
Selangor continued to record the highest increase of the day with 837 new cases, followed by Johor with 535 new cases, and Sabah with 450 new cases.
Today, Malaysia registered four more COVID-19 deaths, bringing the total deaths to 563. A total of 197 patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 79 requiring ventilator support.
However, a total of 994 new recovered cases were recorded today, making a total of 111,578 patients recovered and discharged.***
