GOMBAK, 30 December 2020 – A total of 1,870 new COVID-19 cases were recorded by Malaysia today bringing the cumulative of infected cases to 110,485.
Six new fatalities were also recorded, adding the COVID-19 death toll to 463 cases (0.42 percent of total cases).
Johor recorded the highest today with 607 new cases where this increase was affected by Cluster Tembok Choh that recorded 374 new cases, as announced by the Ministry of Health.
This was followed by Selangor with 472 cases and Sabah with 280 cases.
Eight new clusters were identified namely Cluster Tembok Choh, Cluster Tapak Bina Broga, Cluster Tapak Bina Jalan Stesen, Cluster Slot Berjaya, Cluster Jalan Nikolas, Cluster Gerbang Pongsu, Cluster Damai Ketari and Cluster Alor. This adds a total of 223 active clusters under observation.
The Ministry also reported that there are 131 positive cases being treated at intensive care unit (ICU) with 62 cases in need of ventilator support currently.
On the other hand, according to the Ministry, Malaysia recorded 745 recoveries today, bringing the cumulative recoveries now to 87,460 cases (79.2 percent from total cases).
The public are advised to continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) as part of the new norm.***
