GOMBAK, 24 December 2020: As of 11.00 am today, the Islamic Revealed Knowledge Student’s Society (IRKHSSS) received a total of 200 voters turning out in its first two hours of polling.
Since the IRKHSSS Geeneral Election 20/21 is the first online election, Vice Chairman of the Election Commission, Miqdam Nazmi told IIUMtoday that the verification process will be done for every two hours starting from 9.00 am.
“For the verification process, firstly, we will crosscheck the student’s data with the data that we have from the kulliyyah.”
After the verification process, the election commission will determine the number of valid and void votes from the students.
Meanwhile, the vote count process will start immediately at 5.00p.m starting with the final verification.
Miqdam further explained that the vote counting will be done through Microsoft Excel with the formula generated by the Election Commission.
As of 11.00a.m, the voters’ turnout according to department are as follows:
Department of Psychology – 18
Department of Political science – 22
Department of History and Civilization – 20
Department of Communication – 9
Department of Sociology and Anthropology – 5
Department of Arabic Language and Literature – 36
Department of English Language and Literature – 17
Department of Fiqh and Usul Fiqh – 31
Department of Qur’an and Sunnah – 21
Department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion – 21
Miqdam urged for all KIRKHS students to vote before 5.00p.m today to choose their most trustworthy student representatives.
