GOMBAK, 22 December 2020: A total of 2,062 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded today involving one death.
The highest number of cases being Selangor with 1,014 cases, followed by 504 cases in Kuala Lumpur, and Sabah, the third highest with 252 cases.
Out of the 2,062 cases, four were imported and 2,058 were local cases. One death was reported in Labuan to which the victim was a non-citizen aged 69 years old.
The victim had died on 8 November but the cause of death being COVID-19 was confirmed today.
Apart from that, eight new clusters of COVID-19 were identified by the Health Ministry such as Tapak Bina Residen, Pasar Baru and Seruling clusters located in Klang Valley.
309 individuals were tested positive from the 2,001 individuals involved in the Pasar Baru cluster who were screened for COVID-19.
There were no new cases reported in Perlis, Terengganu and Sarawak.
To date, 97,389 total cases have been reported which consist of 79,304 recovery cases and 439 total deaths since 25 January this year, according to the Ministry of Health.***
