COVID-19 update: 1,810 new cases raise Malaysia’s active cases to 12,734

Gombak,11 December 2020: Malaysia has recorded more COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours with 1,810 new cases, 11 are imported cases and 1,799 local, raising the country’s total to 12,734 active cases.

Six more patients have succumbed to disease bringing the total death to 402.

According to Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, the new deaths were all Malaysians, five from Sabah and one from Penang, aged between 60 to 81. All of them had a history of chronic illnesses.

Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 67,173 have covered. steadily accumulated 88% from total cases. Therefore, with 937 recoveries today, the cumulative number of recovered cases add up to 67,173.

However, currently there are 123 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Meanwhile, Selangor continued to record the highest increase of the day out of all states due to massive screenings conducted by the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) among foreign workers, with 829 confirmed cases, followed by Sabah with 532 and Kuala Lumpur with 132 cases. ***
