GOMBAK, 6 December 2020: A total of 1,335 new COVID-19 cases were reported today including three imported cases, making a total of confirmed cases at 72,694.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the total number of active cases stood at 11,039, with 126 cases require intensive care unit (ICU) treatment while 57 of them require ventilator support.
Selangor topped with 337 cases followed by Negeri Sembilan and Sabah at 258 cases and 250 cases respectively.
Meanwhile, 49 clusters reported new cases and three new clusters were detected, which are Ceram cluster from Negeri Sembilan, Pulau Berhala cluster in Sabah and Tampoi Road cluster in Johor.
In addition, two new fatalities were reported by Johor and Perak bringing the death toll up to 382 cases as of today.
However, the number for COVID-19 recoveries steadily accumulated to 84.3% from total cases (61,273), as 1,069 patients are discharged today. Furthermore, MOH has declared the end of three clusters today; they are Palma, Merpati and Makekar clusters.
MOH continued to advise the people to practise physical distancing, observe the standard operating procedures (SOP) and practise 3Ws (Wash, Wear, Warn) in order to break the chain of infection.***
