GOMBAK, 2 December 2020: Malaysia today recorded a decrease in the number of new positive COVID-19 cases which is 851, of which 847 cases are local and 4 imported, making a total of 68,020 cumulative cases.
There are 10,686 cases that are currently active with 122 patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 47 needed ventilators.
Selangor is still leading with 249 cases, followed by Sabah 229 cases, and Johor 102 cases. Furthermore, five new clusters emerged from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Johor which are Desa Pinang cluster (Kuala Lumpur and Selangor), Impian cluster (Selangor), Baloi cluster (Johor), Jernai cluster (Kuala Lumpur), and Seri Wangsa cluster (Kuala Lumpur).
Additionally, 658 recovery cases have been recorded which is lower than the new positive cases, making total cumulative discharged cases at 56,969 (83.8%).
Meanwhile, two more deaths from Sabah were reported including one Malaysian citizen while the other one is a non-Malaysian making the death toll in Malaysia increased to 365.
The Ministry of Health had been reminding the public to abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and stay away from 3C (Crowded Places, Confined Places, Close Conversation) and practice the 3Ws (Wash, Wear, Warn) in order to break the chain of infection.***
